Steve Ash
Founder & Director
As the founder of Ash Executive, his mission is to connect the finest investment delivery specialists, consultants and executives with top-tier teams across the investments ecosystem in Australia. He has spent over 10 years serving investment organisations, including traditional fund managers, alternative managers (private equity, private credit and infrastructure), insurance asset pools, institutional asset owners, custodians and investment administrators. Steve's approach has been praised for identifying high-caliber candidates and fostering long-term relationships with clients.
Outside of work, Steve’s world revolves around family life, his wife, their two kids and the family dog. He’s an avid supporter of the Sydney Swans and Wests Tigers and he enjoys hitting the golf course whenever he can. Steve also keeps a strong focus on personal development and health and as a self-confessed bookworm, he often finds himself engrossed in a good historical fiction novel

Sam Holliday
Director
Sam partners with banking and financial services leaders to secure the specialist capability required to deliver complex transformation. His work spans regulatory reform and remediation through to platform modernisation and operating model change.
Since 2012, he has worked across the full spectrum of Australian financial services including banks, insurers, wealth managers, investment managers and superannuation funds.
His approach is grounded in deep market relationships and straight-talking partnership. Alongside permanent, fixed-term and contract search, he designs outcome-led Statement of Work solutions. These enable organisations to access defined delivery capability through structured and flexible engagement models, from interim leadership to embedded transformation teams.
Before moving into recruitment, Sam worked at State Street in Luxembourg and on contract at Aviva Investors in the UK and State Street in Sydney. That experience gave him first-hand exposure to the operational and regulatory environments he now works within.
Born in Scotland and raised in Yorkshire, Sam has lived and worked across Europe and Australia. He speaks French whenever the opportunity presents itself. Outside of work, he values time with his wife Patricia and their children, Max and Eve. He remains resolutely loyal to Newcastle United.
